Neat Scanners and Mac OS Sonoma
May 2026 Update: Updated Mac drivers for Neat scanners are now available for current Mac OS versions. You may now download the Neat driver for Mac.
Upon the release of Mac OS 14 Sonoma, Neat users experienced issues with installing Neat scanner drivers and scanning with existing drivers after upgrading to Sonoma. Unfortunately, the Sonoma OS no longer recognizes the usb technology and drivers that the older Neat scanners use. Neat stopped manufacturing and selling scanners over 6 years ago and while we've been able to support them for several years since then, they are not compatible with the much newer Sonoma OS.
However, newly updated Mac drivers are now available for download and are known to work on current Mac OS versions. Some older Mac versions, though not officially supported, have been reported by users as working.
You can also use any of the alternative options below to get your files and data into Neat:
- Scan and upload images using the Neat mobile app
- Import image files directly into Neat
- Email items directly into Neat
- Use a third party TWAIN scanner with the Neat Desktop App.
