Creating a backup of your database is a good idea, to provide peace of mind that your information is secure.

While creating a backup is not mandatory, we strongly recommend creating one before proceeding with the migration process.

In order to back up the Neat for Mac software, you will simply need to copy the Neat Library file and save it to an external drive or location.

  1. Locate your database. By default, your database is named “Neat Library” and is in your Documents folder. However, the database can be stored anywhere locally on your computer and have any name. The easiest way to find your database would be to use Spotlight.  Type in “.nrmlib” into the Spotlight and hit Show All in Finder.
  2. In the following window, right-click or control-click on the name of your database file and select copy.
  3. Then paste the file to your desired location.
