Neat Desktop App and Mac OS Catalina
At the end of 2024, some users on Mac OS Catalina (OS 10.15) began to experience an issue with both the Neat Scan Utility (NSU) and the new Neat Desktop App (NDA) which supersedes the NSU. This issue has only been reported in Catalina.In both apps, when using OS Catalina, the app will open in a blank white window. Apple ended support for macOS Catalina (10.15) on November 30, 2022. Unfortunately, since Apple no longer supports Catalina, this issue will continue for the foreseeable future.
Suggestions
- If you have another computer that is not running OS Catalina, you can install NDA on that computer to continue working.
- If your Mac supports updating to a later OS than Catalina and if you have no other need to stay on the retired OS Catalina, consider updating to a newer Mac OS. Remember that Apple may not support newer operating systems depending on your Mac hardware. Check your currently installed software will work in a newer OS before updating.
