Neat Desktop App and retired versions of Mac OS
At the end of 2024, some users on MacOS Catalina (OS 10.15) began to experience an issue with the Neat Desktop App (NDA). Soon after, we received similar reports occurring in MacOS Big Sur (OS11). To date, this issue has only been reported in Catalina and Big Sur.In the Neat Desktop App, when using OS Catalina or Big Sur, the app will open in a blank white window. Apple ended support for macOS Catalina (10.15) on November 30, 2022. Apple also ended support for macOS Big Sur on September 26, 2023. Unfortunately, since Apple no longer supports either OS, this issue will continue for the foreseeable future.
Suggestions
- If you have another computer that is not running OS Catalina or Big Sur, you can install NDA on that computer to continue working.
- If your Mac supports updating to a later OS than Catalina and if you have no other need to stay on the retired OS Catalina, consider updating to a newer Mac OS. Remember that Apple may not support newer operating systems depending on your Mac hardware. Check that your currently installed software will work in a newer OS before updating.
