Neat Scanners and Mac OS Sonoma
Upon the release of Mac OS 14 Sonoma, Neat users experienced issues with installing Neat scanner drivers and scanning with existing drivers after upgrading to Sonoma.Unfortunately, the Sonoma OS no longer recognizes the usb technology and drivers that the older Neat scanners use. Neat stopped manufacturing and selling scanners over 6 years ago and while we've been able to support them for several years since then, they are not compatible with the much newer Sonoma OS. However, updated Mac drivers are expected in the very near future (see below).
In the meantime, Neat recommends using any of the alternative options below to get your files and data into Neat:
- Scan and upload images using the Neat mobile app
- Import image files directly into Neat
- Email items directly into Neat
- Use a third party TWAIN scanner with the Neat Desktop App.
June 2025 Update: Updated Mac drivers for Neat scanners are coming very soon. Beta testing is currently underway and the results have been very positive. You may now download the Neat Beta test driver for Mac.
